About Michael Wolf

Michael Wolf has been helping men and women of all ages and abilities become stronger and fitter since 2003.  He is the strength coach at Crossfit Solace/Solace New York, where he created and still heads the Solace Strong program.  Wolf is a Starting Strength Coach and, since 2012, has been on the coaching staff at Mark Rippetoe’s Starting Strength Seminars where he coaches personal trainers, Crossfit coaches, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, and regular folks in the Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, Press, Power Clean, and Power Snatch.

From 2005-2011, he was a top-level trainer, citywide education coordinator, and Personal Training Department Manager for Equinox at several different locations across NYC.  From 2007-2013, Wolf served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Yeshiva University’s men’s and women’s Division III athletic teams, competing in the Skyline and Hudson Valley conferences, and was an adjunct instructor in the University’s Physical Education department.

Wolf also competes in Raw Powerlifting and Strengthlifting; his current PRs are a 585 lb squat, 465 lb bench press, 650 deadlift, and 290 press.

Additionally, Michael is certified as a personal trainer by the NSCA, and holds specialty certificates in Kettlebells, Pre/Post Natal Training, and USAW’s Olympic Weightlifting Coaching certification.  He has also attended seminars on Gray Cook and Lee Burton’s FMS (Functional Movement Screen), Thomas Meyers’ Anatomy Trains, and many other topics relevant to today’s fitness professional.
